NOVA 10th-grade Students Create Art Through Dance

🖼 Transdisciplinary inquiry and exploration are one of the core aspects of the International Baccalaureate programme at NOVA. Articulating this knowledge in a form of an artistic expression is the desired result as defined in the IB learning outcomes. For this purpose, 10th-grade students taking the dance class explored different movements through contemporary artistic concepts and transferred their gained knowledge to charcoal paintings.

📌The unit they explored combines several artistic disciplines, such as art, dance, and music. The purpose of this lesson is learning how choreographers use the compositional aspects when creating a performative piece; thus, the students used various movement techniques, combining different dance elements while drawing inspiration from personal experience or abstract reasoning on a certain pressing issue. During this process, they demonstrated their collaborative skills by working in pairs in a limited space and had the chance to develop and use their creative thinking skills.

👉#NOVAInternationalSchools strongly believes in the interdisciplinary learning process and will continue to support each student on their personal journey.
