Dance inclusion

Nova's MYP 1 Dance classes were honoured to host the inclusive dance group from dance studio “Eureka", as part of their current unit on inclusion in dance. Visiting students from the inclusive dance group are all diagnosed with cerebral palsy.  This diagnosis severely limits their fine and gross motor control.  NOVA students were able to experience dance from a perspective of someone who has a physical limitation. They watched a short performance of the "Modern Cinderella" play, were then able to ask questions, and finally performed with the dancers from the dance studio. Everyone in attendance was moved by the honesty and openness of the dancers.  It was an honour to be allowed to hear their thoughts. We hope this is only the beginning of a beautiful friendship and collaboration.
