ES students took part in the annual Mathletics Competition

Last week students in Grades 1-5 took part in the annual Mathletics Competition. The event is hosted online and worldwide with hundreds of thousands of students taking part. The children complete tasks, challenge students from all over the world to live games or even undertake a test. Those students who undertake many tasks online might find themselves on the Top 100 Students European leaderboard. Those with very high scores may find themselves on the Top 100 Students World Leaderboard. It’s also a team competition with classes also being ranked in the Top 50 for Europe and the World. Finally, all the points contribute towards a School total and the chance for NOVA School to be ranked in the Top 50 for Europe and The World.

During the week, rankings will change based on who is active at that time. I am very proud to announce that two of our students were are some stage during the week ranked as number 1 in the world out of hundreds of thousands of students. If fact at one stage they were ranked number 1 and 2 respectively. In addition, Mr Odbert's Grade 5 class as a whole achieved number 2 in all of Europe and number 5 in the world. These are truly remarkable results and worthy of our congratulations. The two students were Metehan Katlu and Arin Karayalcin.
