NOVA Scouts, first Spring Camporee

On May 19-21, Pack 2187 held its first Spring Camporee. In cooperation with the Scout Association of Macedonia, our Spring Camporee was held at the Scout Center near picturesque Lake Ohrid. During the three-day campout, Cub Scouts and parents were able to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature. Cub Scouts learned about the Outdoor Code, water safety and plant identification. Scouts also went fishing; played red light/green light, soccer and frisbee; hiked to St. John Kaneo and Plaoshnik; and, entertained the Pack with nightly campfire programs complete with skits, run-ons and songs. Special thanks to Macedonian Scouts from Ohrid for joining us during our recreational activities. On Sunday, May 21, the Scouts participated in an interfaith worship service and received recognition for achievements, including the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award. Cub Scouts Hari, Leo and Logan Dimitri received recognition for completing their Wolf Rank, and Pack Committee Chair David and Boy Scout Luke were recognized for bringing Boys Scouts of America to Macedonia.
