Physical Education CREDIT: 1.0 COURSE NO: PE001
The purpose of this year-long coeducational physical education course is to develop the skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities, participate regularly in physical activity, acquire physical fitness and, benefit from involvement in physical activities. Students exhibit responsible behavior in physical fitness settings and value for such activities as contributing to a healthful lifestyle. Course objectives are achieved through a variety of sports, games and other body-management activities, such as soccer, basketball, ping pong, volleyball, team handball, badminton, floorball (floor hockey), rope skipping and basic conditioning. Most activities will be co-educational in nature and the program will vary with the needs of the students.

Advanced Physical Education CREDIT: 1.0 COURSE NO: PE002
This is an extension of Physical Education with more complex knowledge and higher level skills so that students can continue their pursuit of becoming a physically fit. Students follow a balanced curriculum that includes opportunities for acquisition of sport- and health-related fitness knowledge, health–enhancing fitness activities, cooperative and team building activities; invasion / territory games (soccer, team handball, basketball, floorball…), net games (throwball, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, …), striking / fielding games (kick ball, softball…), target games (golf, shuffleboard, …) Most activities will be co-educational in nature and the program will vary with the needs of the students.

Aerobics CREDIT: 1.0 COURSE NO: PE003
The course is designed to promote physical health of students through different types of exercises, choreographed to contemporary musical rhythms. Students engage in a full period of gradually escalating, non-stop cardio-vascular workout emphasizing full-body tone. Classes cover Step Aerobic, Kick Aerobics and similar low impact, aerobic activities.

Seasonal Sports CREDIT: 1.0 COURSE NO: PE004
Students can transfer up to two credits worth of participation in school competitive sports towards their physical education graduation requirement. The organization of the sports seasons is given below: Fall season (early September – mid November): Soccer and Cross Country Winter season (mid November – mid March): Basketball Spring season (mid March – mid May): Volleyball A student needs to attend 80% or more of the scheduled practices during one season in order to be eligible for ½ P.E. credit.
