MUSIC 1
This course is designed to introduce children to the basics of music practice while understanding various cultures and styles. Children with special potentials in the field will be accounted for. There are three main goals in the Music class: to increase students’ auditory dissemination, memory and creativity through music exercises and songs; to use motivating materials inviting students to explore connections among the visual arts, dance, theater, and music; and to practice individual and choral singing.
MUSIC 2
This course is designed to enhance children's knowledge of the basics of music practice, and experience the music of various cultures, styles and periods. Students are highly involved into the school music performances, and learn the basics of the ensemble. There are three main goals in the Music class: to increase students’ auditory dissemination, memory and creativity through music exercises and songs; to use motivating materials inviting students to explore connections among the visual arts, dance, theater, and music; and to practice individual and choral singing.
MUSIC 3
Students are introduced to the basics of the music theory. They learn vocal techniques, music literacy, theory and sight-singing skills through a variety of classical, folk, and traditional songs. Through practice classes in individual and choral singing students are prepared for participation in school performances. Students at this grade level study about the musical instruments comprehensively, and performing on instruments is at a basic level. There are three main goals in the Music class: to increase students’ auditory dissemination, memory and creativity through music exercises and songs; to use motivating materials inviting students to explore connections among the visual arts, dance, theater, and music; and to practice individual and choral singing.
MUSIC 4
Students are introduced to the basics of the music theory. They develop their vocal techniques and sight-singing. Students at this grade level increase their music literacy by playing the recorder. Through ensemble playing practice, students are prepared for participation in school performances. There are three main goals in the Music class: to increase students’ auditory dissemination, memory and creativity through music exercises and songs; to use motivating materials inviting students to explore connections among the visual arts, dance, theater, and music; and to practice individual and ensemble playing.
MUSIC 5
This course is designed to introduce young students to the basics of music theory and practice. Students with previous knowledge and interest in the field will be accounted for. The three main goals in the music course are: to improve the students’ general knowledge through the variety of music literature analyzed during the classes; to prepare students to attend instrumental music events and to prepare for participation in the winter and spring performances/musicals through practice classes in individual and choral singing and playing.
