Meet our new faculty members: Nickolas de Carlo [MS German and English language]

Beyond teaching German and English, Dr. de Carlo is passionate about awakening curiosity in students for other Germanic languages, such as Dutch, Afrikaans, Yiddish, and many ancient Germanic languages including Gothic. In 2017 he completed his PhD in Germanic languages from UCLA, specializing in Corpus Linguistics and the semantic differences between two forms. In his free time, Dr. de Carlo plays tuba with various groups, at weddings, concerts, and private events. A native of Los Angeles, California, he may miss the beach a bit, but has found solace in the shores of Ohrid Lake and the mountain rivers throughout Macedonia.
