Learning Macedonian Language in small groups in Kindergarten

Having children work in small groups is important because they learn how to collaborate while doing purposeful, hands-on activities that encourage problem solving and decision-making. In our Kindergarten Macedonian language classes students are learning about upper and lower case letters through puzzles, finding matches with picture/letter cards, building letters with colorful sticks, soft wires (pipe cleaners), and elastic bands on geoboards. They also identify them through playing Bingo. By the end of the classes, kindergarten students were able to find the proper matches, and compose their names using different materials. This was the beginning of a great school year!
